Review: Excellent trout steam. Medium sized with wide variety of water from rocky and fast to deep and slow. Heavily stocked in spring. Good fishing from mercer to Above New Castle. Best areas are above and below McConnell's Mill State Park. Fishing is also good within the state bark, but it is a narrow gorge with dangerous deep whitewater and frequent drownings...fish McConnell's Mill cautiously, especially in high water. This is one of the state's finest trout streams.
